Snowmobiling, Ice Domes Guided Tour & Reindeer Visit

Learn how to drive a snowmobile out in the wilderness followed by a guided visit to the magical Tromsø Ice Domes and a chance to visit the reindeer outside of the ice hotel.

Upon arrival at the wilderness center of Tromsø Ice Domes, you will be provided with state of the art snowmobiling suits and helmets. The adventure will begin with a thorough safety introduction and practical demonstration. You don't need any previous skills to drive a snowmobile, all you need is a normal physical condition.

You will be driving in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each snowmobile, with the opportunity to switch places during the trip. The tour will bring you past scenic mountains and through the dramatic snow-covered Finn valley, starting at 250m above sea level and slowly climbing in between the majestic mountains. You will be on the snowmobiling track for approximately 2 hours, depending on the weather and snow conditions.

After the snowmobiling, you will visit the Ice Domes where the ice bar, ice cinema, ice suites and ice restaurant have themes ranging from local Sami culture to the Northern Lights conveyed through beautiful coloured lighting and wonderful ice sculptures. At the Ice Domes you will join a guided tour and learn about the construction process of the ice hotel and the impact the snow has for the survival of our arctic animals. There will be time to walk around freely and ask the experienced guide questions, as well as admire the unique snow and ice art carved by professional artists. A non-alcoholic ice shot at the stunning ice bar is complimentary. There is also a small group of reindeer at the Tromsø Ice Domes for our guests to visit.

Note! In order to drive the snowmobile, you must be a minimum of 18 years of age and hold a valid driver’s license. Please also note that there is no reindeer sledding, Sami culture, or reindeer petting involved in this tour.
